Sponsored Parent visa (Temporary) - (Subclass 870)

This temporary visa lets a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years.

• Stay : Up to 3 or 5 years

Key requirements

• Visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per visa period.
• Re-apply for further visas to visit up to a maximum period in Australia of 10 years
• You must have an approved Parent Sponsor to apply for this visa

Contributory Parent Visa (Permanent) - Subclass 143

This permanent visa lets a parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to stay permanently in Australia.

Key requirements

• You must have a child who is an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen
• At least half of your children must live in Australia (Balance of family test)
• You can stay for up to 2 years

Sponsored family stream - Visitor visa (subclass 600) – Suitable for Parents and Relatives visiting Australia

This visa stream lets the overseas family member who are sponsored, usually by a family member in Australia, come to Australia to visit their family members.

• Stay : Up to 12 months
